Neyts is also affiliated with the Leuven Rega Institute for Medical Research, where he is involved in the development of a promising vaccine for COVID-19. For his work on anti-viral drugs, he is also been engaged by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and many large pharmaceutical companies. Neyts has authored about 400 scientific articles, contributing to the fight against herpes, yellow fever, rabies, zika virus, AIDS and hepatitis B, among others.
