Jo Bury

For over 25 years, Jo Bury has been the managing director of the Flanders Institute for Biotechnology (VIB), which he co-founded.

He was previously the director of the Flanders Action Programme in Biotechnology.

Bury obtained a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences at UGent, one of Flanders’ five universities. He went on to study management at the Vlerick Business School in Ghent, Flanders. After performing scientific research in the field of atherosclerosis for several years, he continued his career in science policy.
