For over 15 years, she has worked as an investigator at the Centre for Vaccinology (CEVAC) at Ghent University Hospital, contributing to over 50 clinical trials.

Since 1 October 2017, Dr. Leroux-Roels has been the principal investigator there. She is currently an assistant professor at Ghent University, where she teaches several courses in vaccinology, hospital infection control and microbiology.
